Tentative Schedule
Friday March 26th- A wine and cheese get-together at Fabac's in Tyler about 6 or 6:30 PM. Nothing real fancy, just several wines and cheeses with maybe a vegetable tray and spinach, etc. Around 8:00 we'd go to Don Juan's, a great, locally-own Mexican food restaurant. Authentic, better for you Mexican food, not Tex-Mex, with enough food on each plate to feed three or four.
Saturday March 27th - Do the Azalea Trail tour; the route is partially blocked off to traffic, and covers many blocks where you could park and walk. Then we would drive through the entire Trail area. There is also a Tour of Homes along the same walking tour. For the five homes, the total cost is $10, or close to that figure.
Tyler has some antique stores downtown and some off South Broadway, should anyone want to check those out.
Saturday evening, we can have a mini-drive to the Country Tavern for some of the best ribs you will ever eat! We'll gather around 5PM and take the back way, so as to drive in the daylight some of the way. The Tavern was opened during the oil boom as the gathering place for the roughnecks, etc. from the oil field. There are many, many stories which I'm sure are true of the barroom fights, stabbings and probably killings in the Tavern. There is a small dance floor, jukebox and pool table for anyone that wants to use them. Food is great!
Sunday March 28th - Returning home, we can drive to breakfast in Edom, at either The Shed or the new Edom Bakery across the street.
Spring Will Come!
